About Me                                                                                                                                                                 Catherine Stothart
I established Essenwood Consulting in 2004, after working for Ford Motor Company, Mercury Communications and ICL in senior HR and L&D roles for sixteen years, followed by five years living in Egypt (where I was Chair of Governors of a British School) and Brazil, as an expat spouse.

I have qualifications in coaching and psychometric testing, am on the British Psychological Society's Register of Competence and am licensed to give feedback on a range of instruments, including:

    • Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)
    • Hogan Personality Inventory (HPI)
    • Occupational Personality Questionnaire (OPQ)
    • Emotional Quotient Inventory (EQi)
    • Talent Q Dimensions personality questionnaire

I also have an MSc in Organisational Behaviour from the University of London and am a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

I am a Trustee and Board member of the British Association of Psychological Type (BAPT).

Speaking at BAPT Conference 2016 on Emotional Intelligence for Life

I have coached dozens of managers to develop as leaders: see a case study of one of these programmes, Coaching Case Study (2011) and a journal article about using personality type in coaching, Coaching with MBTI (2014).

I enjoy working with teams to become more effective in both the task and the relationship sides of teamwork.  For a case study, which demonstrates a positive, measurable impact on employee engagement, see  Team Coaching for Engagement (2013).

I am currently writing a practical guide on how to use Interaction Styles, a tool for being emotionally intelligent in the moment, to build better relationships both at work and at home.

Outside work, I play tennis, badminton and ski, and enjoy going to live music and sporting events.
